SPIDER Surgical System Advances Minimally Invasive Surgery

Bariatric surgery patients can now have less invasive procedures with the SPIDER Surgical System because of its capability to create triangulation via a single site access point to the abdomen.  TransEnterix Inc., headquartered in North Carolina's Research Triangle, has advanced the field of minimally invasive surgery ("MIS") with its SPIDER Surgical System.

In this video, Bariatric surgeon, Dr. Sherman Yu, demonstrates some of the capability of the SPIDER System.  The system enables a new class of MIS called Flexible Laparoscopy that allows for surgical procedures to the abdomen without needing multiple incisions.
